I think killer whales need to be in the wild personally... however if a trainer knows that a killer whale has prior acts of aggression towards a human they shouldn't swim with it... you're only asking for trouble and after such insidents the whale in question should be destroyed so that no one else gets hurt... As for my self you couldn't pay me enough money to get into a tank with one of those creatures. They're called KILLER whales for a reason people. Thats my opinion and i'm sticking to it!

Killer Whales of the World, Unite!
We meet third Thursdays every month, except February, by the Mid Atlantic Rift.
Yes, "the Whale at Seaworld [was] correct in it's actions". Come on, this is an animal, its actions are neither correct or incorrect. They are the actions of an animal.
As a dog trainer once said to me, there is nothing that an animal can do that is wrong/immoral/incorrect. The human/s did something wrong in allowing the situation that caused the behavior to exist.

I totally disagree with you, beacause I am an inspiring orca trainer. I don't think that the whale is being held against it will, come on are you dumb. Have you ever even been to SeaWorld, because if you have you would see the strong bonds and relationships that the whales and trainers share. I mean yes the whale was out of line, but without that strong bond with the trainer the whale could and probably would have killed him. The whales at SeaWorld are treated very well and don't perform in every show and they don't go to every trainer session. Further more I have do multiple camps at SeaWorld and an animal is never forced to do something, the trainers use positive reinforcement. Do you even know what that is? That means a whale isn't going to be punished for not doing what is asked for it. SO STOP TALKING LIKE THE WHALE IS BEING HELD AGAINST HER WILL, BECAUSE THE WHALES ONCE AGAIN ARE BEING TREATED EXTREMELY WELL AT SEAWORLD!!!
I know that not all orcas are treated as well as those at SeaWorld, and I totally agree that some whale are extremely unhappy in captivity. You can tell when a whale is unhappy and that is when you take charge, for example Keiko was in a horrible enviornment in Mexico City and never wanted to perform and was always sulking in the corner of his pool, but once he was moved to Oregon he started becoming happy, he started breaching, spy hoping, and playing. And further more once he was released back into the wild he swam to Norway and always wanted to be with the people. Keiko loved to be with the people so much that Norway had to pass a law saying that no one could touch him. If the whales were unhappy at SeaWorld they would show signs of unhappiness just like Keiko did. I am not saying that the whales attack was the whales fault, I simply think it was a miscommunication whether it was from the trainer, or maybe the whale wanted to be with her calves. I think there was a reason behind it, but it wasn't that she was unhappy.

I disagree totally with your gorilla tactics.
I do think training facilities should rethink their show practices using killer whales. But they most likely will look just as far as elephant trainers have looked which is not at all.
