Latin tradition says at 6 months old, some get it done at 4 months old and I even seen it done right after they are born, the choice is yours, just choose a safe, clean place to get it done

You will be getting different opinions from people as this is a topic that is very contravsal. Some people say to do it after they have their first shots,at 4 months,at 6 months.Cause they say that the youngeer they are the less pain they feel. But then you got other people that say not to do it at all and just wait till your daughter asks for it to be done. I know people who have had their daughters ears pierced at 6 weeks,3 months, and 9 months. My daughter will be a year old on December 10 and that is when we plan to pierce her ears then.So all I can really say is it is all up to you on when you feel is the right time.

I have my 2 daughters ears pierced and my doctor told me he thinks it is best to get it done around 3 months that is when both my girls were done and i would recommend it mainly because at 3 months they don't really touch or pull at there ears yet so it reduces the risk of infection as they are not touching them all the time, by the time they are teething they are used to the earrings and the holes have healed so they don't pull them as much. they get over it within about 5 Min's if that and it is much easier for you to clean and bathe the ears properly at this age they cant run away lol.. make sure you get small studs with the click lock backs so they cant get them out, get them done by a trained piercer with experience in baby ear piercing as the earrings go in a slightly higher spot to adults because the ear lobes still need to grow and make sure it is a clean safe practise if there is any infection see your doctor straight away good luck

It's up to you. Some people do it on the way home from the hospital. Some a few months etc. My doctor wants me to wait until my daughter is at least 5 due to the possibility of a baby swallowing an earring if it falls out.

Alot of places require proof of 2 month vaccinations. However I wouldn't do it until the child was old enough to decide if she wanted it done and certainly not until she was able to understand that they must be cared for or an infection can set in. My daughter is 13 and she's never had hers pierced but on the other hand my godchildren had theirs done right after their 2 month checkups when they could provide proof of up to date vaccinations.

I remember when they would do it in the hospital after birth. I had my daughters done when she was 6 months old. But I reccomend waiting atleast until they are a year old. I've seen so many little girls get bad infections and actually ripped holes, due to ear pulling from all the common things that come with babies. ear infections, teething, etc. As they get older, they tend to pull at there ears.
good luck, hope this helped.

When your daughter is old enough to understand the concept.. Think about how much fun of an experience this could be for you and your daughter when she is 9 or 10!! Then she'll remember it!! I would wait if I were you.. That's what my plan is with my daughter!!

A newborn does not need pierced ears. Neither does an infant or a toddler. I agree with the person who said to wait until she is old enough to decide if she wants them. Whenever I see an baby with pierced ears I don't think it's cute...what actually crosses my mind is that was needless torture of the baby.
