Which one will suit me either laptop or desktop PC ? I want to use it mostly for entertainment like watching movies, listening music, playing games and even viewing TV channels. Please tell me about features which i should check before buying a PC i.e. Hard Disk capacity, further upgradation etc. Please tell me about the drawbacks of a laptop ?

If you're going to be going to college, a laptop -- for portability.

Otherwise, if portability is not an issue (at school or at home) -- a desktop, of course! You get much higher end components for the same amount of money. Desktops are easier to upgrade and repair. Desktops are less prone to accidents, breakdowns, etc..

Minimum requirements: Duo processors; at least 1GB RAM (PC5300); Level 2 cache 512KB, or better; a dedicated video card (not integrated into the system board.) A desktop can get you these specs much cheaper than a laptop -- period.

Since u want to use it mostly for entertainment, they will need a large screen..nd i guess there is no need for being portable. so in ur case I recommend that u get a pc..as for the features I recommend the following:
Hard disk: min. 100 GB
Processor: Intel Centrino 3.0
Opereating System: Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition
Ram: 1024 MB
nd u will need a DVD/RW

Batter option is to choose Laptops only, if ur usage is limited. but u wish to use computer for entertainment purpose like games, movies,TV, all these needs heavy system usage, hard key strokes, etc.,

Desktops,u can use in any way, if problem(h/w or s/w) occurs it is easy to rectify, less expensive.

But Laptop is very sensitive, like a new born child, and more expensive when problem araises.

So, based on usage,u have to choose better option.

I use a laptop its a 3 year old iBook and I honestly can't imagine going back to a desktop its as capable or more so than the average desktop and I can take anywhere. It means i can work on the couch and its easy to use. Desktops Suck

Laptops are more fun--and can go with you anywhere, but

they can cost more, be less convenient to type with and mouse travel, and a nightmare to get repaired (get the longest warranty possible--buy a new laptop when it runs out.)

Desktops usually remain in one place and are cheaper. You have lots more upgrade options--though in todays computer world, a new computer could cost less than getting an upgrade!

Get a sturdy router like the Linksys WRT54G. in case you like instant to the two contraptions and don't have it geared up into the laptop, get instant USB contraptions. connect the printer to the own laptop, and do a printer report share in community contraptions if no longer already enabled. set up a small workplace/domicile community and print in the time of the own laptop from the laptop. when you have it set up circulate into the instant risk-free practices and set up WPA risk-free practices, substitute the channel to eleven to stay away from interference and alter the login password. Write each thing on a small piece of paper and tape it to the backside of the router for destiny reference. With the MS wallet you're able to do report updating between the two structures. the help menu will help in alot of those issues and Linksys has an excellent stay chat and get in touch with help.

There many good answers already. I just want to add a comment.. . . It's easier for people to steal laptops rather than a desktop.
