He's banging your best friend on the side and just hasn't gotten the nerve to tell you yet and drop you.

He's on his way out and just hasn't told you or you changed and he gave you "moped status" and doesn't want to be associated with you in public.
Either way if he's being a dick then dump him. If he was affectionate before and isn't now something changed somewhere. Him or you, but, it sounds like you should start looking for another partner. Because he's not volunteering any info.
American guys don't get mushy in general but if they were affectionate in the beginning and aren't anymore that's a tell tale sign of pulling away.

He doesn't care like he use to and doesn't want "potential" partners seeing him hold your hand. When a bf isn't affectionate it is a bad sign. It may hurt now but you will be better off in the long run if you dump him and find someone who really appreciates you. I have been married 21 years and my husband is every bit as affectionate today as he was when we first began dating.

I wouldn't handle anything. If you like a boyfriend who is very cuddly in public or private, you deserve it. You can't make anyone change. Either take him as he is or move on. If he wants the relationship to work it's up to the man to make the moves to keep the woman. You are taking the male role here and it'll never work that way.

men are not by nature "mushy". In most cases the only time you will see them being mushy is during the beginning of a relationship, once they have their foot in the door then they don't really think about it. Be more sure of yourself. A woman shouldn't have to "cling" to a man all the time. They hate that. They also hate it when you pester them about emotional stuff. If you are not happy with the situation then leave, but dont expect a man to become feminine.

Hate to say it but he's on his way out. I'm sure when you first started dating he was affectionate. he may even have someone he's eying up. Give him the boot and find someone that will treat you right. He's too wimpy to be honest with you.

hey hun...well for me two of my ex bfs ended up like that and we ended up breaking up..it's just some people lose interest, or weren't met to be with you, that could be one thing. Other thing is that he might be going through some hard time n might need to have some space, but still feels the same way about you as before. The only way to deal with this is to see how he feels by talking more with him. good luck
