Considering that most of the airlines are publicly traded, I would say anyone can own them if they want to. I am not aware of any restrictions on buying stock in publicly traded companies.
The stock market has been around for much longer than the Bush administration.

If you are implying security then all the 9/11 airliners were US owned planes on domestic flights.

Well, I remember when all the liberals whined and cried that we need to JOIN THE WORLD. Now they are the ones that whine about jobs going overseas and stuff like this. Welcome to world economics everyone. Like all liberal dreams the reality sucks and America will suffer.
