Ive hired a handmade Chinese dress from a fancy dress shop, which I wore last weekend. It has no labels, so Im not sue of the exact fabric. Its either Silk, Satin or Sateen. I noticed some small black marks last night, which I managed to get off with water. However, now its dried there are big blotchy watermarks where I wet the dress! Is there anyway of geting these off? Would they come out if drycleaned? (however, the dress is due back tommorow, so dont realy have the time for this) If the marks are noticed by the hire shop people I will have to pay £60!!!

Take it to your dry cleaners and ask for same day service. It will cost a bit more, but will still be less than what the shop you hired the dress from will charge. They should be able to get the water mark out. You shouldn't try to do anything else yourself since you don't know what the fabric is, or how it will be affected by any additional efforts to solve the problem.

You could try steam! Hang the dress up and if you haven't a steamer use a steam iron. Dont let the iron touch the fabric though. You could also try wetting the whole dress and hanging it up to drip dry above a bath! This often works but at this time of year may be impractical!

Off white is a hotter tone, so i could pass with gold. no longer super chunky gold, yet gentle strings of a necklace/bracelet, diamond/cz rings with a splash gold, and strappy gold footwear. that's extremely state-of-the-artwork too, extra advantageous than silver.

its because you have spot washed the item...best to wash on a cool handwash cycle and take out of the washer as soon as it stops ( dont leave it or it will really crease), then iron on med heat whilst still wet.....trust me it will work and let me know if you try it?
