Wouldn't it be icky to have a runny nose in that case? How would you see while you were blowing....that would pretty much make it impossible to blow while driving or walking wouldn't it? EEEEEEk! I don't even want to think of what a sneeze would do or how many extra germs you would get into your eyes...if you snored, would you snort your eyelids up and suffocate???? The logistical problems I can see from this are endless and very amusing! LOL

Here is an actual answer- just because of ancestry. The presumed first ancester were ground living shres (imagine a mouse like thing). It would be a HUGE disadvantage to have your nose above your eyes. 1- you couldn't see and 2- you couldnt smell well. The longer your nasal passage, the better you can smell, generally. etc- a dog can smell better than a human. As the ground living shrews went up into the trees, they didn't need such a long nose and it grew shorter, but since they came from ground dwelling shrews with long noses, the nose was already on the bottom.
Opposite evolution: The ground dwelling shrew into a land carnivore related to a hippo went back into the ocean and needed a easier way to breathe. Some cetaceans have their nasal opening(s) behind the eye. That way they dont have to completely come out of water to breathe. Since they don't need to smell well (water is a bad substrate to pass smells through), it doesn't matter.
Hope this helped explain it a bit!

Its more an anatomical thing. Your eyes are connected with the brain while your nose is with the lungs. If the order would be different we could been looking really ugly :) Some scientists argue that the evolution did not designed us perfrctly. But the whole process was full of trade-offs. Our mouth are connected with lungs so we can speak, but we can also choke. The solution would only be the pair of two lips :) Considering the eyes, I thing its entirely a brain product and is as close to it as possible.

PS.To 'Nothing to Say?'
But evolution does not think in terms 'what with runny nose?' The creation of our eyes has its own story and the creation of the nose own. Nose couldn't be above the eyes unless our brain would develop somewhere else. We can speculate about alternative design of human budy but we can never be certain :)

In fact the nose is above the eyes.
Just think of yourself as hanging off the earth upside-down by your feet. This is actually the case, except we've adapted so well to being upside down that we now consider ourselves to be the right way up.
The eyes are therefore right at the bottom of your body for exactly the reason you suggest - so that nothing else "gets in their way".

Without my nose being were it is how would my glasses stay in front of my eyes and not drop down too much. I would always be looking down to see through my glasses then I would run into things like walls, chairs, tables, and people. I have would have bruises all over all the time.

If your nose were above your eyes imagine what would happen if you had a bad cold or sneezed unexpectedly while driving!!! You'd be blinded. Your eyelashes would tickle the end of your nose too!
You'd also look a bit like a Picasso painting.

Great, then you'd be able to sneeze in to your own eyes. Hmm, I'm getting a feeling of why the nose isn't above the eyes!

Ah, but you are not considering all aspects of the situation. In the deepest part of winter, with the wind's icy blast, if our noses were up there around our foreheads, our eyes would fill with snot.

We'd then be easy prey for predators such as the three toed gerbil and the pangolin.

Not really. I think the original design is better.

Have you thought of the number of potential accidents caused by drivers with flu/runny nose?Or people that need glasses? Or ones that need to pick their nose?

Eyyow thats a stupid question if ur just askin for a waste of time.....The nose keeps on exhaling air so if it was above the eye the exhaled air would come on your air and ull have to keep on blinking each time.are you dumb?
