if you go to Durban you have to experience the life down there, so i find scotsburagh a great option, it has breath taking beaches, fun water slides, delicious ice cream, creative crafts, friendly people and small shopping centers that have outdated movies for a really fun experience. scotsburagh, about 40 minutes from Durban, is also less busy.

Take a night walk by the beach at promenade and go to Zululand which is an absolutely different experience. I also recommend "Zulu Jazz Bar" in Playhouse in Durban. It has nice live jazz.

One of the best things to do is visit uShaka Marine World - has an aquarium, dolphinarium, seal show and water park, including a river where you can meander round the whole area on an inflatable tube. Just look after yourself though cause the Point area where the park is located is not the best for security.

shoping! shoping! shoping!
best shoping malls; gateway, westville pavilion, emporium(workshop), musgrave centre(best-of-all), la lucia mall, etc.
best beaches; durban beachfront, blue lagoon, north beach, umhlanga beach, la mercy beach, amanzimtoti beach, scottburgh, warner beach, the list goes on.
casinos; suncoast, and sibaya just north of umhlanga.
touring; take tour busses from durban beach front, go to 'the valley of thousand hills', go to 'kwazulu' and experience zulu kingdom. On yahoo videos search for 'pimpin around the world' by ludacris. his video was shot in durban.
