If you truly enjoy your work, I would like to hear about it. What do you do? Why do you like it? How did you find this work?

Thank you for answering!

Yes, I do. I work in large machine shop, 140 employees which is quite unusual for a machine shop. The shop is open 24/7, 365 days a year. I'm the only WOMAN on the night shift. I run a CNC lathe and the parts I run are side pinions for the automotive industry. I found the job by answering an ad in the local newspaper. What I like about it is, it's easy, and I'm not under any stress. I had recently left a job that I had been doing for 10 years, I was making good money and had great benefits, but I was under a tremendous amount of stress due to the fact that I was a supervisor. So, my new job is perfect. I'm only responsible for what I do, NOT what a whole dept. does. I'm not making as much money now, but it's closer to home, (the pay will increase as time goes on, just got a raise this week) and I still have good insurance benefits.

I'm a teacher, and I LOVE being a teacher. I always tell people that I'm qualified to do all kinds of jobs. I read 50 pages an hour, I type around 80 wpm, I can use all kinds of software and hardware, I can draw, do audio and video editing (really basic stuff only, but hey!). Still, I don't want any other job. The great thing about teaching is that no matter how long you teach, no matter how good you become, you can always get better. I first became a teacher 14 years ago ... and HATED it! I was a miserable failure. I went on to do other things. But eventually I went back, learned from people, got to know people who enjoyed it and were good at it, and I learned a lot. There are days when I feel like a complete amateur, but hey, that's what I love about it! It's never boring. And my students? I love 'em. I love every one of 'em. Even the 'bad' ones. Heck, (and this is a secret, so don't tell, okay?) ESPECIALLY the 'bad' ones, 'cause they need love the most.

I trade stock, and stock options from home and now I actually enjoy "working". I was at a job I didn't love for almost eight years and had really started to get into investing, in my spare time . So I started to read lots of books and do research on the Internet about trading vs investing. Then, after having some success I finally left my job in 2002 to give it a shot full time and have been doing it ever since. My only regret is I didn't' do it sooner, (I had been investing since 1996) though it did help me to miss the 2000 market crash.
I think the key to enjoying your work is to do something you already enjoy doing, or doing something you believe in or are passionate about (Hopefully in a good environment). IMHO

hell no. I work for a company i despise in so many aspects. probably the only reason i stick around is i have made a lot of friends in the previous years and i need to pay the bills!. I don't want to start again. Don't know 100% but apparently only 10% of the population are in a job they enjoy........ the rest are working class........

I don't love my work, but I'm great full for it. I don't love it, because its not my meaning in life, it's not what my heart wants to do. If you want to find something you love, go via your heart.
