The OB says that now all pregnant women are required no matter how far along they are. I am 37 weeks.

Is the Flu Vaccine Safe During Pregnancy & While Breastfeeding? Pregnancy can increase the risk for complications from the flu, and pregnant women are more likely to be hospitalized from complications of the flu than non-pregnant women of the same age. Women who will be beyond the first 3 months of pregnancy during the flu season should get a flu shot. Pregnant women who have medical problems that increase their risk for complications from the flu should get a flu shot before the flu season, no matter their stage of pregnancy. Also, it is safe to get a flu shot if you are breastfeeding. A flu shot cannot cause flu in either you or your baby.

It is new and required when pregnant. I have the best doctor.

Get a new OB.

The Flu Shot,.. no matter how many times they try to fix it, can cause problems with your child. These problems are normally not physical and can be life long,.. like increased chance of Learning Disablities and Autism. They do try to reduce but there is always something winding up in there that years later turns out to cause problems.

If you were not pregnant, I would still not encourage you to get a Flu Shot while your immune system us weakened. Some Colds turn into flus. There may be small ammounts of Live Flu strand in your Flu Shot and being sick increases the odds of them turning into a full blown flu.

Women on here are often talking about how they are or have been sick with the cold or a flu while pregnant and got through it just fine.

No vaccine should be done when you are not well, I mean when you have a cold. And it looks like by the time you get well you won't be pregnant for much longer, because you'll have the baby soon. So ask another doctor to be sure. I wouldn't do the vaccine, but I am an irresponsible know-it-all person who does things her way especially in health matters. It is best to listen to your doctor, but do ask another one just to make sure.

Usually, when you have the cold, the Doctor will advise you that you can't get the flu shot because you're body is not up to it.

That's bullshit - get a different OB doc and DO NOT get a flu shot while pregnant and/or also sick! Good Luck with you baby.
