When we have things to worry bout, like an immediate crisis that needs to be solved, it takes us away from whatever is really causing us to feel depressed.

When we have "nothing" on our plate, we tend to feel that depressed feeling again. That is a good time to see a friend, go do something, volunteer, something to keep your mind off of things. That usually helps, in the short term.

Otherwise, you may want to talk with your doctor or seek counseling.

Alternatively, if there is a pattern to your feelings, it could be hormonal. A week or so before my period, I feel horribly depressed, like I notice EVERYTHING wong with my life. It sucks, but then it fades away.

Good Luck! :)

I agree completely with Jena... but it is easier said than done.
Please read the answer by Purish very carefully. Do you have any of these issues bothering you? Subconcious mind biting you?

Let's see the other reasons...
Girls have mood swings just before or during their "period" every month...
If we have nothing worthwhile to do, we may get depressed...
If we have a habit of blaming ourselves for all that happens with us or others then too we may get depressed...
If you have a series of flops at your work place or in your life you may get depressed...
If you are taking sedatives or any other medicine then they may also be a cause of depression...
Unfulfilled expectations may lead to depression...
There can be a various reasons why we get depressed without any apparent reason. But RELAX you are not alone. There are 6 billion people in this world who have experienced silmilar feelings. you are in a majority. Smile now...

This weird feeling has been experienced by many of us. Let me illustrate it..,When we ponder that we have to do something massive, sth great or sth that needs diligent and scrupulous work we creep into this strange world which inflicts pain and depression..
Moreover u exp' this feeling even at times when u expect a lot from yourself eventhough you are apprehensive about it.When there are discrepancies in self-confidence and motive embedded with high hopes for great results,, depression leaps in.

It just a frame or state of the mind. It is a choice. Choose not to be depressed, and try telling that to yourself everyday. Soon you will come out of your depression

Jena is right ...its a choice we make. So we can choose not to be depressed. However its uncanny that we all go through these down moments. Something shared by all humans and good to remember that .....this too shall pass !

In most of the cases we dont analysis the situation properly...
actully in our consiousness we act smartly but some how we miss......coz we can't always think out of box i.e. according to situation... and then we think only of pros and cons not the plan of action....some how our concern to matter or person demands us to think much and because of that we go in analysis-paralysis situation(we analys to much to get sick of it).

We don't get upset for no reason. Sometimes it's just something you can't see or understand yet.
