put in more troops? draw them down? leave all together? given that iraq is pretty much spiraling out of control(can't deny that, i have a friend over there in baghdad and he says it's getting worse) what do *you* think we should do?

I saw on CNN last night that to be as effective as we were in world war 2 we would have to increase our military to over 400,000 troops. that would be 14 soldiers for every thousand Iraqis' that would mean a large scale draft and many many opinions support that idea. our allies seem to be going out the backdoor and practically the whole world thinks we should too. there's no way to leave this war and save face unless we win and the only way to win is a draft and I don't support a draft. many others don't either. I say start now pulling them out slowly. maybe some of them could come home for Christmas

I think that we need to stay in a bit longer and then slowly begin to pul our troops out. It isn't getting too much worse... In some parts, yes, but in others it is the same. I think that it isn't spiraling out of control and that we cannot see that happening until we pull out completely. The troops enlisted knowing the risks, and sure I want them to come home safely too, who doesn't... but, we know what can happen when we go over there.

Or pull back to protect the oil along the pipe lines and fields , until our national debt is wiped out and a surpluss is achieved, I mean if you have a war for oil then just take it, if not pull out and change foregion policy at once to being a non interviening country and taking care of our own first

I'm tired of wasting American lives for people who aren't worth it. I just want our troops home. We've got so many problems here (like our border.) We need to fix our own messes, not Iraq's. We should leave elite special forces in Iraq to take out particular targets. But that's about it.

If it is possible to train the Iraqis to fight this, that is the ONLY move. But since the army, the police and the government are infiltrated with terrorists, this is going to be a near impossible task.
