Has it increased over the years? because all I hear is that Israel only owns a little bit of palestine and the palestinians can't have it all and should accept that israel can have at least a bit of it.

What a load of crap from Marty K. I am sorry but your fanatism is harming your judgment. Palestinian people existed from the time of Ancient Greece and was not discovered as you say from some roman emperors. Read some histrory before you post.

The ancient Greek historian Herodotus wrote about the Palestinians on the 5th century BC.

Also arguments "this land was given to jews by the god" is very funny! This is the jews mythology and should not be used as arguments from serious people.

I can throw in endless arguments based on what the 12 Greek goods have said.

Jews came to that land killing the people that lived there (palestinians and perhaps others).

Wow, what a can of worms you've opened!

First, I don't think any claims can be made on the land by EITHER side based on whose ancestors lived there thousands of years ago. By that reasoning, Native Americans ought to be blowing up anyone whose ancestors weren't born here because God gave THEM the land as their homeland thousands of years ago!

Now, I don't know about anyone else, but *I* am a NATIVE American, because, dammit, I was born on this soil. THIS is MY homeland, regardless of where my great-granddaddy was born and what he did to make it possible for me to be born here. So, yeah, I would have a serious problem with anyone of a Native American race who would suggest they have a right to kill me and take "their" land back.

I hope you're all following my point: it's WRONG to pretend that either the Palestinians OR the Israelis have no right to make their home in the land that has been known through history as Israel, Palestina (when controlled by Rome), Palestine, and Israel again. It is especially absurd to tell the youth on either side that they don't belong there, when they ARE natives, having been born and raised in that land. And I'm not getting into idiotic bickering over whether or not Palestinians existed 60 years ago- they exist NOW and that's all that matters.

As for the two-state solution... The Israeli offers that look so good on paper are NOT good deals when you look at the physical realities of geography and demographics. Let me put it this way- Philadelphia and New York City would be Palestine, and all the land in between would be Israel. The Palestinians wouldn't even be able to move from one part of their own country to another without going through Israel. Now how is THAT supposed to stem the violence?

I don't pretend to have the answers to this conflict; I believe it will take millions of young people with common sense working together to truly bring peace to Israel-Palestine. But in closing, I'd like to firmly state that BOTH Israel AND Palestine have a right to exist, and BOTH have a right to one contiguous nation. And it doesn't matter what happened a thousand or even 60 years ago- those who have been born and raised on that land are NOW the natives of that land, with EVERY right to reside there regardless of what the murderous morons in the generations before them have done!

you've your heritage incorrect. even as Israel declared independence from the united kingdom, the encircling Arab international places declared conflict on Israel and those Arab international places informed the Arabs residing in Israel to go away so that they does no longer get damage even as they invaded. some went to Egypt occupied Gaza and different went to Jordan occupied West monetary company. some stayed in Israel or perhaps joined the Israel protection forces. The Arabs who stayed grew to develop into Israeli Arabs. so as you note Israel by no ability expelled any Arabs. the purely human beings Israel ever expelled were fellow Jews even as they kicked Jews out of the Sinai and Gaza and torn down settlements

Shouldnt the question be; What percentage of the land is owned by "Arabs" and by Israelis? Palestinians are NOT an ethnic, cultural, linguistic, or religious group, unlike the Israelites. They are arabs who have adopted the name of the geographical region. The Peleset(Philistines) were extinct long before there were any arabs in the mid east!(outside of Saudi Arabia of course), and the arabs have control of almost the entire middle east, which they took by force by the way. Other pre arab peoples in the middle east would love some of their land back. I'm an Assyrian, id love independence from the arabs too!

Re:Marty K's post.

While it may be correct that the Arab people of Palestine are not the descendants of the original settlers from about 1000BC, they have, nevertheless inhabited this land for over 1000 years. It is reasonable to apply the term Palestinians to the people who live in this area notwithstanding it may not be ethnically correct. If the requirement to trace ancestry in a country beyond a 1000 years were universally applied, there would be very few legitimate English and Americans.

Much can be learnt from Judaism. Their G*D gives them land so when they slaughter existing residents, steal their property or enclose them in quasi-concentration camps, they are doing G*D's work. The ultimate SS Officers' answer - I was only obeying (G*D's) orders.

Compare this to that Jewish invention, Christianity. Be Meek, Turn the other cheek, Earthly possessions are unimportant. How many million have fallen for it?

The following site has a great deal of useful information about the land and population distribution in Palestine.

Marty k is a racist. Know one knows the truth, you are going by what you percieve as a historical fact. The thing about history is that is written down from someone's point of view. Imperialism has happened throughout history especially all over the world, the when another country is invaded it is often done with force, don't try to make it seem as though a certain group of people were Savages b/c it was Israel.

People are people regardless of there race, religion and national origin and for someone to demean a whole race of people is just very disturbing to me.

Goldfish, I don't have an answer to your question. sorry

I don't know the percentages, but I do know that they are fighting for the tiny bit of land that was given back to them, note given back, it was taken from them.
