Partially the singer sings to loud and has to leave the studio... (you can hear the bang of the door....). He has to sing this loud part outside!
After that he has to come back to the mic (you can hear opening and closing of the door again...) and he has to complete this song.

The version you are thinking of is by Stan Freberg. I am 99% sure of that. I loved it when I was a kid in the 50s.
Freberg had a lot of very good comedy records. I think you can buy his CDs at very good record shops. Get your favourite store to look it up on the catalogue or check in the comedy section.
