You are confronted with the following formula:

A * [(B + C)(D - E) - F(G*H) ] / J = 10

Knowing that each variable is a unique, single-digit, nonzero number, and that C - B = 1, and H - G = 3, what is the number ABCDEFGHJ, where each letter is a digit? For example, if A = 4, B = 2, and C = 7, ABC would equal 427.

Well, you got me stumped!

-------------------------------------

I started working it out and got pretty far.

The above given information might be incorrect. Maybe? I don't know.

I tried it several times. I even double and triple checked my work!

---------------------------------------------

This is as far as I got and then I got stumped:
(D-E) (B+C) = (10J + AFGH) / A

------------------------------------------------------

Great question!

I look forward to the continuing discussion.

I love the way you worded your question. Right on!!!

Keep those challenge questions coming! ;o}

there is not any point out related to no be counted if the numbers are valuable or unfavorable. If unfavorable numbers are allowed, there are various solutions, e.g.: fifty two-1712-215 fifty two-1911-215 If unfavorable numbers are no longer allowed, the C-B=a million equality will produce unfavorable numbers for C if B is extra desirable than 0, and nil isn't allowed.

For one thing, you're a cheater. You're supposed to figure it out yourself. Although, I'm a cheater too.

For another thing, nobody is going to be able to give you the correct answer when you don't make it clear that (b+c) is to the power of (d-e) with a little carat (^) sign and, likewise, that f is the the power of (g*h).
