have been told that i can only have 6 sat/sundays off per year anymore then this will result in me using double amount of annual leave
surely this is not right i have checked contract and all it states is holiday entitlement 27 days plus bank holidays

If your contract says 27days plus bank holidays and no clauses to when you can take them then you are right. However most employers says the holidays need to cleared so that everyone doesn't take them of together etc.

Not exactly sure of the ins and out of this particular question, but what I do know is that it's a complete fallacy that you're entitled to take your holiday entitlement exactly whenever you please. It has to fit with the needs of the business.

You should be allowed to take YOUR earned holidays whenever you like......talk to your union.
