I want to convert my wma library to mp3. Can I do this with windows media player 11?
If not does anybody know any utility I can use to do this. I have tried a few WinAmp plugins but I haven't found one that copies the artist/track name info to the ID3 tags.

Thanks for your help

I am now ripping new tracks to mp3 but I need a way of converting my old tracks.

I need to do it en masse, not one at a time

Using 'Save As...' in the File Menu, you can change the extensions of the file from WMAs to MP3s or vice versa, but you can't really change the type.
To change the extension just type either of two at the end of the name of the track, after a dot (.) of course.

I have found that you can rip the music from a cd and convert it directly to MP3 format.
Click on the "Rip" tab - a drop down menu will come up. Click on format and select MP3
All your music will rip in Mp3 format until you change these settings.
Hope this helps
Good Luck

Audacity will do it without messing around. And its free.

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ -Audacity music tool.

But it will only do one track at a time, open the track and select File - Export As.
