Is this your only topic - how awful the English are. (Judging by the questions you ask it is).

Absolutely pathetic questions which lead to some pathetic answers like that of Beth-n.Wayne - parents of horse-faced child as Faders Girl so correctly pointed out.

Get a grip.

I'm not arrogant at all. In my experience Americans are usually a lot more arrogant then fellow English. I can only name one or two US.Americans who are not arrogant.

Every country has arrogant people. Some have more than others, but I doubt England has more than average.

I fully support L E's answer. :)

Your confusing composure and self restraint with arrogance. English people are rarely loud and outgoing, they dont like to show off like the yanks, they dont like making a show of themselves - some people view this as arrogance, when it is not, it is composure and an overriding desire to not make a fool of themselves.

Obviously p1ss-head louts who go to Ibiza dont fit this category.

And whats all this tripe about British people having bad teeth - this is an American delusion. Americans view the British as having bad teeth because the British dont spend thousands have cosmetic dental surgery like the Americans who dont have real teeth.

Stereotypes are not always accurate i.e.:

Not all Americans are thick, brash, loud and tacky dimwits.
Not all Scottish people are smelly, drunk violent backward people.
Not all French people are arrogant, dirty and pompous.
Not all Canadians say "aboot" instead of "about"
Not all Irish people are chaming piss-heads who wear green
Not all African people are lazy, murderous thugs.

Hope this helps

Best Regards

An Englishman

Another generalization. NO, I don't think so. I have met some French, Italian, Russian and even Saudi people who are a lot more arrogant than the worst English I ever met. So, I guess in all cultures, there are the normal ones and the a..holes who think that their s..hh...t doesn't stink.

Some of them are, some of them are not. Just like in every other nation there are some arrogant people without everyone being the same.

Yes we are dammit! If you took away all the universities and architecture, there wouldnt be a lot there apart from some very wound up people due to the media inciting everyone to have an opinion on everything they dont understand!
I left the UK 10 years ago, been back on business a couple of times, to see the same people moaning about the same things, and blaming their problems on everything else.
Not proud to be english at all sadly, which is a shame, britain was great once, it just got left behind.
