It really depends on your needs.
A wired network is logically more secure, and also, if set up and wired correctly, less susceptible to interference, making it more stable. A wired network usually offers more bandwidth than a wireless network, the present day standard for wired networks being just under twice the bandwidth of wireless networks, though wired as well as wireless networks can have both higher or lower bandwidth available depending on standard.
If you move around a lot, and don't like cables lying around, wireless is the obvious choice. For regular home use, browsing the internet and transfering a few files between computers now and then, wireless will do you just fine.
For home use, it's really personal preference. If you know whether you prefer security and stability or flexibility and tidiness, you have your answer.

Yes definitely.. It is more secured than wireless through the use of the router.. With a wireless, people may tap onto your network and hack into your system easily.. In the event that you choose wireless for it doesn't create any mess with all the wires, do remember to switch off your wireless once you stop using the internet..

Agree with all the above -
If you have the capability to go wired then do it... (wired will usually be 100Meg... not much benefit for going to the internet however if you have more than one computer you WILL see a huge difference).
Almost all wireless routers have built in 4 port hub so I would suggest do BOTH. Put wired where you need it and you can still 'roam around / back yard, etc' if you have a laptop when you are not at a 'wired' station...
Cheers

Yes ... if you have a wired network it is more secure and is less likely to give you trouble .... in nthe event of trouble it usually only takes a modem/router reset and you're up again ... with wireless you can never be sure if it's the "send" end the "receive" end or something interferring with the signal .... if you don't mind the cables ... go wired
It's also faster .... wireless connection is 54mbps where wired can be 1000mbps

If you are talking about a internet connection such as dsl and using a wireless router to go wireless, instead of using a hardwired Ethernet cable. You will not notice any differences as their bandwidth is much higher than a WAN connection, such as an DSL or Cable.
If your asking about actual wireless internet as opposed to a DSL connection, wireless doesn't have high bandwidth or high quotas the only thing good about it is portability

For dependability you will be happier with a wired setup. If you prefer the convenience of wireless, for a few dollars more, you can achieve both dependability and security!
