Harry Potter as these are movies to relax with. Lord of the Rings i would rather read as i have done for the past 15 years once a year each year because there is so much more to the story than in the movie but the movies are very close to the books true fans notice the little changes.

Lord of the rings Vs Harry Potter?
Horry Potter is childish and is a fav among kids and the books r stupid as hell. While watching the movie I wondered if this is a high school drama based in a wizard world.
On the other hand lord of the rings has a more complex story line and is for adults even if you arnt into action the film has an integral meaning to it.
LOTR is an epic like Mahabharata or Ramayana,HP is a novel for kids
LOTR=Oscars HP=b.s
LOTR=great actors and visual effects HP= kids,kids and some paintbrush magic

I would like Harry potter . 1 i have 2 kids and it goes over better for me.2 I like to read the book 1st and then watch the movie and see how different it is.

Lord ofthe rings, the harry potter films are a big disapointment compared with the books where as LoTR is a much better adaption, well apart from the ending!
Plus all the hot men in LoTR

I love them both but I would rather watch Harry Potter. Harry Potter keeps my attention longer. I can watch those over and over, but with LoTR I can only watch them like once a year. My bf bought the exteneded, directors cut extremely long LoTR movies. I dont have the attention span to sit for 4 hours to watch those movies!

Both are nothing but commercial crap!
Especially Harry Potter! I saw it and it had absolutely no meaning! Especially the 3rd part! Well maybe because it was a UK film I don`t know, maybe that is why the Lord of the Rings is somehow more ok for me cos we are all used to USA films, but again, come on! What did that witch writter do? She put a spell on u or something? Why am I the only one who has escaped?

Any of the Rings movies. While I love the Potter books, the films fail to reach their true potential. Although they are getting better, now that they have started using better directors. Each since the 3rd film has been getting better and better.
But the scripting and sequencing of the action and plot points in the LOTR series is masterful and near perfect. They did an amazing job with the material/books.
