I need to organise a debate competition and want to make sure it runs smoothy. Are there any online guides that give a step-by-step of what's required. Just looking for a little guidance on how to format it etc. Any links would be much appreciated, thanks in advance.

Find a really "hot and controversial" subject that gets people aroused - advertise it effectivly and they will come flocking or respond to have thier say.

Advertise the debate, declare the location of the venue with a map showing the way. Not forgetting to book a hall or an upstairs room in a pub - best location actually.
