You yourself have answered your question. If you want to have an education first, there is no point in getting into a relationship anyway. But if he loves you and supports you, it should not matter if he is rich and you are poor. Love conquers all friend. So your parents, if they love you, should understand.

well, 9 times out of 10 parents have your best interests at heart - so if chances are it wont be a case of them not LIKING him - but rather they might not feel he's RIGHT for YOU. in which case - talk to them maturely and ask them WHY they feel this way, and it will probably be for some very good reasons that are worth thinking about. but after you have taken their opinion into consideration - it is ultimately up to you
