I certainly hope not.
What sort of low-life father would put his own personal ambitions above those of his child?

Don't be daft.
Gordon Brown is obviously delighted to have chlldren, particularly after the tragedy of the death of his first baby. Anybody who watches him on the TV news for a moment knows that he will make time for his child. And conversely nobody with Brown's workaholic reputation will neglect his duties for his family.
A Minister who does not give time for his family will probably not be a good Minister either. The truth is that soembody at the very top will have the resources not only to support his (or her) family but to plan out an efficient timetable.
As I understand it, Brown's son has a medical problem that compromises his long-term future and requires treatement to ward this off. He doesn't need particular molly-coddling as a child. Actually, it is David Cameron who has a child with special needs, and by all accounts he does a good job of managing this.
Our politicians, of all parties, are generally younger than a quarter of a century ago. I am not altogether sure this is a good thing, as many of them lack a work background outside politics as well as general lifetime experience. However, family life does help bring them in line with the world of people outside Westminster.

It is a private matter and GB should keep it as such not have a photo press and TV opportunity with his child.
These politicians are sick people and will use any opportunity to try to purport they are the same and have the same problems in life as us - the peasants.
Unfortunately we know that GB will have a resident nanny and the very best in medical care (not the NHS) for his child, that he and his comrade Bliar try to deny the public.
Sorry to be so cynical but it is true.

He will certainly exploit the sympathy angle.
he will come on a Tv chat show and say that its the only way forward for him and his family.
Just like blair, he doesnt care about the country but rather his own ego.
I hope no one gives him sympathy,it is the child who has the illness and this no way demonstrates a better ability to run the country.
He has taken the world leading economic template of mrs thatcher and turned it into a £30billion deficit despite a global boom.
Do we really want this failed chancellor to run our country?

I may be mean but why all this sympathy for GB and his wife? There are many other parents who have had to cope with this problem and worse.I do believe justice has its own way of punishing people and he(GB) is now getting his comeuppance for all he has done to the British public without any care for the consequences and their wellbeing. The baby, yes I have sympathy
and wish him well, but GB,may he suffer.

What a stupid question. He can do both and he will get the very best of care from the NHS I'm sure of that. He won't have to wait for stuff either, guaranteed.

He probably has a nanny anyway, so wont make any difference. I just love the PR crap when in their statement, they said they were happy with NHS service they were getting. Bollox, he will have a private consultant, they must think we are stupid.

He is hell bent on becoming PM at all costs but money will buy him an army of carers and nurses to take care of his sick son.
