It is not necessarily that you compare but things come to mind.
Sometime when you have been hurt and I mean mentally because it is less obvious, it can have an effect, negative effect in the new relationship.
You will react or act in a certain way because your unconscious wants to prevent you to suffer again.
Your partner can be at a loss then, as he think you are overreacting. Which you probably are.
Then do take time to think, first by yourself. Eventually explain briefly to your partner why you think you were so emotional.
As for the sexual part, of course it is yes!
But, if in general you feel better with the new partner, after a while, the new experience will diluted the older ones.

No. Each partner is a new experience, new hopes, etc. It's a waste of time making comparisons. Maybe that's why some people make the same mistakes over and over again. Everyone has his good and bad qualities. In the long run, performance in bed is not the most important issue; it's what's in the person's soul.

I don't think I compare, but I am grateful for the new man in my life. I do think about my ex, but negatively in light of my new lover. I think about the many ways that my new man is a more immagnative love, better friend, more supportive, etc...

I didn't realize that my husband was bad in bed until we divorced & I dated others. Then I discovered what all the excitement was about.

Other than that I don't compare men. If someone is bad in bed, I just don't see them again.

To a certain degree I compare. Such as; I like when we did this, or we used to do that... My current is not as romantic or affectionate as my ex was. So my mind does wander very frequently.
