It was interesting to see the news cast comparing 2 very different cities. ABC, a traditionally liberal network, actually reported how Democrats who claim they want things more "equal" give less of their income (smaller percentages) to charity than people of lower incomes. So I guess my question is this:

Why are Democrats always so critical of Republicans when it comes to money when the Democrats don't GIVE to local charities?

Check out the ABC News link and video (top video on right side of page):

First of all a charity is suppose to be given to without recognition. Who give to charity because of what is in your heart and not what it can do for you. If democrats or republicans want to give to charities, why do they report what they give and what business is it of ours to know. Whatever they give was taken from us anyway since we pay taxes and then in return pays their salaries. If I give to a church, a building fund, a kids network, or any other charity, it is because I am giving with a spirit of giving.
Here we are in the Christmas season and we are questioning giving? Of course if we had the Christmas spirit year round instead of just for a season, maybe the world will be a better place.
Here is a question for you and your readers. Why do we capitalize democrats and republicans in a sentence when most do not even capitalize God in a sentence? Do we set them at a higher standard?

Personally, I think that Democrats advocate all of the stuff they advocate because of popular opinion. They want votes, period. Do you think they really care about the plight of the homeless or whether gays can get married. I don't think they do. At least Republican's will tell you what they like or don't like. Democrats expect others to give to charities, in which case the government could still get a cut. Then again, giving to charities is tax deductable in some cases.

I am surprised that ABC News did reported it. I first saw the information on Fox news a few weeks ago and even checked the other stations to see if they had the same reports. Didn't find them at that time but I guess they picked it up.

Us old folk already knew this and did not need to hear it from ABC News. To go a step further, it seems as if Dem's only give for one of two reasons. !.) to give themselves a tax break; and/or
2.) because they can get some positive attention for doing so.
Not many Dem's sitting at home alone quietly writing a check to charity in an amount that hurts.

Cats will fight with dogs, Muslims will fight Jews, and Democrats will fight Republicans. That's just the way it is in this world. As far as the giving, I don't think it has anything to do with party affiliation, but rather with the way a person was raised. Republicans tend to teach their children about personal responsibility, community involvement, and religion. Democrats tend to teach their children about how to become a gay or lesbian self-centered moocher from the government.

doesnt surprise me...the wealthy and powerful want to use the federal money for projects to line their own pockets and further their own pursuits, in the name of another cause, no matter what party they are.

when the dems have full power, it feels like socialism.

when the gop has full power, it feels like fascism.

I would believe Bush before I would believe what an ABC media whore / presstitute would say. Remember they are OWNED by conservative corporations. You won't get the whole story from TV News.

wealthy democrats feel guilty about their wealth and feel that middle class people should share with the working class. but they feel that their wealth is deserved and hard earned. (in my opinion)
