Congrats on your new choice!.
The harmonica is a grate instrument to play. it is fairly easy to learn the basics and play the songs you like. (mastering it though is hard as hell).
there are many website with useful information for beginners, let me recommend you a couple:
http://www.todoarmonica.com is very good to start with, though it is in Spanish, you can use google to translate it.
after you get the basics there, and comfortable with single notes (blowing or drawing from one hole only) you can start looking for songs you like (instead of playing Mary had a little lamb all the time). the best site for that is:
http://www.harptabs.com
you can find there more than 1900 harmonica tabs to play

harp on!

For the blues, start up out with 2 different keys of harmonica. Get one interior the foremost of A and one interior the foremost of C. (those could play interior the keys of E and G interior the blues type, yet that's in touch with yet another day). Spend $17-$25 each to be certain that that's a superb harp. Then, start up playing alongside with what you may. If the music isn't interior an identical key as your harps, you're gonna sound like crap regardless. If the music is interior the excellent key, you will provoke your self good off the bat. forget approximately bearing directly to the holes above 6 thoroughly for a 12 months. Use the internet for beginner's classes. maximum critically, shop one on you or interior the motor vehicle in any respect cases. you may get assorted prepare sitting in site visitors.
