hey, when I went to Poland and when my friends heard about it, they all asked for one thing - SLIWOWICA. So when I went to Poland and spoke to some people, they said yes.. you can guy one in a shop which is 45% alcohol but the best one you find South of Poland.. like Zakopane. I went there, search for it (did not want to give up!!) heard so much about it and YES!! I got in on the market (not in a shop!) 75%. It is real strong fire water. I even got the bottle for myself and reading to you now: Produced and bottled Lacko Poland. Daje krzepe, krasi lica, nasza lacka Sliwowica. It has a certificate. (so go to some markets and ask some old traditional polish women, they will know what you talking about)
But there above is for adults only, otherwise the all the answers above covered most. There is also know cheese in Poland which is called OSYPKI (make sure it is really smoked sheep cheese.. some people sell it made out of cow milk). Again, the best you can get around Zakopane (and mountains).
