Believe its Mark McGwire. It looks like his signing pattern, but the signature is a little spread out. It looks like that but the signature is more compact. Run a search on McGwire autos on eBay and compare. Be careful it isn't a fake.

All due respect, but it's definitley not Mo Vaughn. I have his sig a few times and that is not it.

***** Did a little research and it is definitly Mark McGwire. Go to Yahoo! images and put Mark McGwire signature and compare the picture you provided and the images listed. Hope this helps you out *****

Assuming both are signed by the same person, I would say the bat. They are worth more as an item by themselves, they hold up better, and their more rare. Also with the bat, if you were looking to sell it one day in the future, you would only have to deal with one transaction. Andrews logic sounds good but people won't pay $100 for a ball unless it's a Hall of Fame type player. No team has 25 of those.

Leonard Coleman was the President of the National League from 1994 to 1999... that's who's (facsimile) signature is on the front of the baseball.

Can't make out the player's signature though, sorry!

The Front looks somewhat like Joe DiMaggio and the Back is Leonard Coleman Jr.

The player's signature looks like it could be Mo Vaughn, former 1st basemen of the Red Sox and Mets.

Not 100% sure though.
