The paradoxical frog (this was shown on the children in need show of QI with stephen fry for all you brits)
The Paradoxical Frog (Pseudis paradoxa), sometimes called the shrinking frog is so named because it grows into a very large—25 cm (10 in) long—tadpole (typical of the Pseudis genus), which in turn becomes an ordinary-sized frog, only about a quarter of its former length.

the male deep sea Archer fish. It actually starts off small and grows to about 1/10th the size of the female. During mating it uses its mouth to latch on to the female and the is assimilated into the female fish. It shrinks to about 1/4th its adult size and receives all of its nutrients from the females blood stream. It never has to hunt to find food and the female gets a steady supply of sperm to fertilize her eggs.
