First let me say I'm sorry for your loss.
Your body should pass the molar preganacy soon. The doctors can do another ultra sound if you bleed for a long time to make sure that there is nothing left inside. If you don't pass it on your own soon, they will to a D&C. Which means that they will go in through your vagina and remove the tissue. You will get anesthesia for this procedure. PS...don't read any of the tragic stories about D&Cs, every case is different. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions or need to talk. I work in a high risk OB department and deal with the loss of pregnancy with patients all the time.

You really should have a D&C to ensure that the molar tissue is completely removed and does not have time to spread.

I had a molar pregnancy in 2001 and I understand exactly how you're feeling now: confused, scared, grieving. But please know that you can go on to have a healthy baby after a mole; I have a beautiful boy born two years after my mole and I know many, many other women who have done the same.

I actually created and still run a molar pregnancy web site and support group, mymolarpregnancy.com, and I hope you'll consider joining our group. The women there are all in the same situation or have been in the past and can help you with all of your feelings and questions.

Please wait. i understand its no longer common, yet I did and fell pregnant right this moment away with my daughter who's now almost 5 years old.

Oh honey...I'm sorry for your pregnancy loss...I haven't been through this type of miscarriage, but have had losses of my own in the past including the early loss of my daughter's twin.
I did find this site..it's from the March of Dimes and explains a bit about what it is and how it is treated, etc.
I wish you well.
