Is it in her chest or more so drainage in her throat?? Like she needs a decongestant?? Any fever?? First can you suction anything out of her nose if so get some saline drops or spray and get out as much as you can...Run a humidifier...Give her a warm bath to help loosen some of this up if its more in her throat like sinuses. but no this is not normal and what I would do is call the doc and take set up an appointment to get her checkout by the pediatrician. Could just be a cold but you also want them to check her ears out. Check the temp right now though...preferably rectal and anything above 100.4 rectal is a temp...give her infants Tylenol if you know the dosage....also leave her setting upright and do not lay her on her back...this makes it worse...I hope your little one feels better..its hard when they are sick and you feel like you don't know what to do...

Phlegm isn't normal. Make sure she drinks plenty of fluids; if it's been going on for more than 24 hours, get her to a doctor to check for the possibility of bronchitis or pneumonia.

i would take the baby to the doctor becuz it sounds like a sign of rsv.when my sister was a baby she got rsv and had flem in her cheast to and she had to stay in the hospital for a month until it was cured.and if it is rsv it can be deadly.
good luck! and i hope it's not rsv so you don't have to see your baby in a hospital bed.

the Peds Dr may suggest watering down her formula or breast milk to help thin out the mucus in her chest, if the cold is really bad they may admit her or prescribe medicine for her. Hope she feels better soon

It could be URI, an d definitely not heart failure or anything. Isn't better to listen to a good Paed than listening to us, the "quacks", when it comes to your baby's health ?

~Are you sure it's phlegm? I thought my baby had that, but it was something else.
I recommend taking baby to the doctor tomorrow, unless baby has a fever, take baby NOW.~
