I moved here 5 years ago from Illinois and I have not seen 1 lightening bug......they are so cool........I miss them.

I have been in Florida since 2000 and have also not seen any LIGHTNING BUGS either...
Maybe the breeding conditions are not favorable in your area...

I'm not really sure why in your area of Florida. I just read something on the net that someone from Florida said she doesn't see any either and thought it was due to the pesticides they spray for mosquitoes that kills the lightning bugs as well.
