The sperm of dogs and human are nearly the same size . A magnification of 300 as over microscopes should be good

You can see them at 100x, but 400x will enable you to see more detail. 100x means a 10x objective lens and a 10x eyepiece. You would also have to make a thin preparation. A small drop on a slide with a coverslip placed on top would be adequate.

I looked at my sperm and saw them swimming around. I think I used 400X and 600X with oil. Take your sample from the clear stuff and not the yellow.

40x objective lens on an olympus microscope is good enough for me.
