One of my favourite stores is Vilfil in Zurich, on Kreuzstrasse. It's a yarn store, quite small but packed with yarn of every description. It's a pleasure to walk into because the yarn is quite colourful, and seems to absorb sound making the store very peaceful. Besides wool, acrylic, alpaca, silk and microfiber yarns, they carry a collection of knitting patterns and books and a selection of needles. I bought some rosewood needles there, even though they were very expensive. They were lovely to knit with but they both broke! The store will also order yarns if they don't have what you need; I've ordered black alpaca for a very big sweater. And the staff is very helpful, even when I have odd knitting ideas. It's also possible to have them knit you a sweater to order, or to buy one there off the rack, but I don't see the fun in that! I think they might offer knitting lessons as well. Lastly, they have a loyalty program, so you can get something like 10% off every fifth purchase. All in all, a very nice store indeed!
