well because you wax your hair regrowth is softer & finer so using an epilator is a great idea, the owch factor wont be so bad becasue your growth and your skin is used to the extraction process.. i bought mine about 3months ago and im a shave person and now looking back i will never shave my legs again!! I wont lie, the first time i used it it hurt, (because i shave and my hair is much thicker) but now i dont feel a thing. to me it the best thing i have ever bought... Give the BRUAN silk-epil a go, its gentel and easy to use, with 3 heads, two speed settings, ice pack (that you probably wont ever use) and a smartlight so you can see every single hair!. oh and one of the heads ( the biggest one has massagers which makes using it gentle) trust me you wont regret it. good luck.

Epilators will feel slow and painful next to waxing!
I have a Philips Satinelle epilator. It was expensive, and although effective, the pain barrier and time issue mean that I seldom use it.
Even with an ice pack, or other preperation, the epilator will still seriously hurt. In fact, it's less painful on the bikini line that it is on the legs (especially the ankles!). I have a seriously high pain threshold and can grit my teeth through the process, but not many people do.
The legs will probably take an hour to do, depending on how sadistic you are feeling. Underarms? I did that one, and regretted it.
If you do take the plunge, I suggest only using it when the hair is very short otherwise the pain will be sharper. Also, your legs will probably be red afterwards so it's not very useful if you want to wear a skirt without tights immediately after.
Finally, if you are a home waxer, it's worth skipping epilators and using Silky Mitts instead- it's like a fingerless glove that slips over your fingers/palm made of a gentle sandpaper that you use to smooth the hairs away. Cheaper, less painful and smoother than an epilator!

Braun are probably the most experienced and successful manufacturer of epilators.
Epilators are just a mechanical method of plucking and do the same job as waxing does. Like waxing, they can be painful but so much depends on how strong and coarse your hair is.
Some women have only a little fine hair on their legs -- in which case epilators are brilliant and can lead to the hair disappearing completely after successive epilatings. The coarser your leg hair is, the less good idea an epilator is.
Be careful on the bikini area -- the skin of the labia is, for most women, rather tender.

I used to work for a large electrical retailer a few years ago when the epilator first came out & I would actually demonstrate it on my own arm (or leg - when my arm was hairless) and if I a mere bloke can stand the pain - I'm sure a woman can - its not that bad - and the end results are worth it, provided you moisturise afterwards!

A beginner head has less tweezers in it, the pro head has lots of tweezers in it.
The one I bought came with an ice pack. I don't remember the make of it though, maybe Philips. If you look through their descriptions you need to choose what you want, you can get ones with facial attachments, shaver attachments and all sorts.
Sorry not much help.
