I have 3 females and 1 male. I bought the first female about a month ago and she had 2 babies. she still has a spot on her bell and she is doing the same things as if she was pregnant. She hasn't had any babies since. Can anyone help or give advice.
P.S. she sits on the bottom and dosen't eat much.

Well, I think you should buy two more males so that the females will give birth fast. If you really want your feamle guppies give birth quickly, you should put three males and one female into each tank.

Under-gravel filtration is the best. Refresh the water with ambient controlled temperature no more than 25% per volume of existing tank size with mineral water from the store. Insure that the water is chemical free. Rain water is too acid. Plants and snails are good for live bears. Remove parent fish from tank after birthing. Large Females have been reported and verified to drop 125 over a 24 hour period. Change of pH will induce labor most of the time. I have a pond 10 feet deep by 1 Acre surface area. I breed guppies for live food for other fish. Guppies in the wild are void of the color seen in tank breed fish. They are gambeeseos (spelling?). Note that once impregnated you may remove the males since 3 to 4 birth cycles will come in due time.

My female guppy has babies about every 3-4 weeks. I don't know how many she has, because she and her mate have eaten all but two. You may have a hard time keeping track of your gupppy babies for the same reason, unless you keep your female in a separate breeding tank. The fact that she's sitting on the bottom not eating probably means she's having babies. But if she continues to stay on the bottom, she is probably sick. Good luck!

firstly that is a very good ratio to have, most people recommend 2:1 so you male is not only lucky he's probably knackered too. secondly you may find that she has already given birth to a few and they have been eaten(even the mother will eat her own) as for the spot(gravid spot) you usually find that female guppies are almost always pregnant all the time. is there anywhere for her to "nest" in some gravel mounted plants maybe? also turn the aquarium lights off as this can stress them out too. if you have to put their light on then turn on the room light first so the fish can adjust, then put the tank light on if you really have/want to(just don't leave it on all the time! regular water changes during pregnancy is also a good idea(10% daily) just make sure it's dechlorinated first, if you use tap water then let the tap run for a while first to limit metal impurities that reside in the water supply.

a healthy female guppy will have 15 to 30 babies at a time. Yours may have and they just got eaten by the other guppies. Guppies can get pregenet at 15 days old. Guppies store sperm over several pregnancies so you can say that after 15 days old guppies are always pregnent. Depending on the chemical cleaness of the water and the quality of nutrition they recieve they can have about 30 babies every 30 days. Providing many fine plants to hide in will protect newborn fry. Plastic plants are usually best as live ones will die and rot and pollute the water.

you need to add some free floating plants. This will provide cover for the youngins when they arrive. Otherwise all the other fish will immediately eat the babies. I used to keep mosquitofish, they are like guppies. I dont know how long it took for each one to give birth, because I always had so many doing it. I would say less than a month at most.

This is for you if you need to know when she will give birth.

1: Is she bigger then normal?

2: Is she less active then normal?

3: Is she sulking away/ hiding?

4: Is the gravid spot dark black?

5: Feed the fish. Is the female guppy eating? (watch closely to see if she actualy eats it and not spit it out.)

If you answered yes to 3 of these questions then she will give birth soon. if you answerd yes to ONLY questions 5, 3, and 2 then she might be sick.

She is either sick, or about to have babies. Her "tummy", will have not only a very rounded about to explode look, but actually get a little angular, like a rectangle look. Keep her tank clean, change up her food a bit, keep her stress free, and she will have more babies. Can you see their little black eyes? If so, she is going to have them soon. Keep her tank as warm as guppies can have their water, this helps the babies come also. Keep an eye on her, the others love to eat those little babies.

Maybe you should separate her, because she problem think that if she gives birth the others will eat the babies, and you might not want to feed her so much. But keep in mind you should feed the other ones, so that way if she does give birth then at lease they will have food to eat instead of eating the babies.

Sounds like new guppies coming to me. Although she has had a couple and is on the bottom she may be at the later end of her life. Make sure you don't have any agressive fish in the tank with her. Feed normally. If no improvement or new guppies in a week or two check your PH levels. PH levels are missed by many. You would believe what is added to tap water all over the US - it's sick for everyone......good luck GUPPIES!

guppies can have babies from 21 days to 30 days depending on light period, food items and temperature. Within about seven days of having babies the female as you look straight at her will give the appearance of a square look, normally they have a v shape. The sitting on the bottom can be a lot of things such as water chemistry being off, harassment from the other fish, disease problem and of course about to have young or problem with birthing. Not eating is a sign that something is off,i would check the chemistry and look for other signs of a problem such as spots, lesions, rapid breathing, loss of finnage and so on.
