I am connected via wireless with my lap top and now want to add my old computor which only has a USB connection .The BT setup disc is hung and even though I have tried everything I cannot get it to start from the begining It say we will now test the line and nothing happens. How can I clear this problem or Can I manualy set this link I have managed to load the driver for the voyager and the devise manager sees it and say the device is working correct lly My Explorer will not work What settings do I need to change to get net access set up. My knowledge is limited so a step by step guide would be appeciated.

th the usb , as when I boot up widows2000 tells me it is setting up the comunications , So I believe that some where I must have to enter an IP address , or Sub net address to get the computor recognised by the router. I am thinking this shold be in explorer some where

The BT step by step set-up disk is generally very good.
Which windows version do you have on your old desktop ? - it requires 98SE or later, not plain old 98.

Can you get windows-intel to set-up without using the BT disk? I sometimes find that BT tries to do the same actions as intel and gets confused - mainly for wireless set-up. Also it may set up the USB, but then get upset that it can't find a wireless connection

The BT helpdesk is generally a long-winded pain. and will basically tell you to uninstall everything and start again

I assume that you read the instructions properly. With USB devices, the software usually has to be installed before the device is plugged in. Have you other USB equipment? If not, you might need a driver for the PC mainboard. See also "General USB Troubleshooting Windows 2000":
