why would you care if a man you're gonna kill, kills himself? Does it spoil the fun? I also think about the death row prisoner in Texas who, on the day before his execution, managed to take a drug overdose. They rushed him to the hospital, saved his life, then brought him back to prison and killed him. Apparently, just to piss him off.

the reason is there is always a chance that the person will get a pardon or will be found innocent at the last moment, letting someone die in jail is perceived as cruel and unusual punishment. All prisoners are the responsibility of the prison where they are housed. It is an odd and stupid system.

Death is undignified. People lose control of their body functions. If you kill someone, and watched them die and lose control, why not allow others the same courtesy? It should be thought of as dishonorable to kill yourself and ruin the show. It's obvious the prisoner didn't want an audience or to give the family and friends closure by seeing him pass. No, I would never watch a person die nor am I vengeful but there are consequences to our actions.

I think they should be made to suffer the way their victim/s have suffered. They do not have the right to take the easy way out. Anyone on death row has been put there for a reason. Imagine if it was your loved one that was the victim... would you like it if the killer killed themselves... I don't think so... justice must be done.

That's a good question. I'm not too sure about that. Something legal I'm guessing. I had a psychiatrist once who would go see prisoners on suicide watch...not sure if they were on death row though.

It is a crime to commit suicide, but it is legal (in some states) to give the death penalty. Besides, if you commit a crime, you gotta do the time, even if it's one more day! Also there may be a loophole or additional questions etc so they may need the scumbag around longer.

Because by killing themselves they stop the families of those whose lives they ruined getting full justice.

It also stops the families of those on death row from claiming compensation against the prisons for negligence.

well it's quite simple really..........
They keep them on suicide watch so they can't take the easy way to death, they're in there for a reason and they should suffer the worst death possible for taking somebody's life.
I'm sure that's the view of the prison guards and the peoples families they've destroyed..........
