It seems to me that people either name their children very commonly used names or too "unique" of names. When I was pregnant with my first I poured over baby name books. I went over the meanings when putting names together until I found two that seemed to fit, one for a boy and one for a girl. I always loved the names Sophie (for a girl) and Alexander (for a boy). Both of them are now popular. My girl's name was Sophie Cordelia (Wisdom of the Heart) and my boy's name was Soren Alexander (Stern Defender of Mankind). I had a baby boy. I told a few people my choices when I was pregnant and no one liked them! I got SUCH critizism! Maybe next time I'll go for Jordan or McKenzie! j/k
Every name is right for every person, but parents should at least think about it a little more! :)
