Now it is:
- Randomly shutting down
- The mouse skips a few inches of the screen
- When I typed "www" it typed "ppp"
- Sometimes the trackpad is clickable, sometimes not
- Trackpad is always turned off after random restart

best buy has a lemon policy where if you had warranty from them and they repaired it 3 or 4 times( i am not sure how many times) they allow you to buy a new laptop for the original purchase price.

I have had a HP pavilion for a while and it went to Iraq with me so I know it is not the make. The mouse skipping sounds like the person who repaired it did not seat the Keyboard cable all the way. This could cause other problems as well. If the Key board is not typing the characters properly that could be that the main board was deffective the last time it was repaired. I would take it back to best buy and let them know the trouble that you are having. Normally if these problems show up after a repair the part was replaced with a part that had problems. Keep track of what the service center replaced on the laptop. A floating mouse can also be a Keyboard but I am suspecting that the problem is with the main board.

my HP is running great after almost 4 years. You just have to maintain it and learn a little about ur computer. Those guys at best buy hardly know anything. They are idiots. They have screwed up you keyboard driver and disabled your touchy pad. Phuck them and do it yourself.
