Historically, the Chinese had many wars with its neighbors. But it seems that they never won in any of their attacks. Please note that I never meant about the successful defence. Can you point one successful winning attack (war) at least?

There are two instances of the Chinese winning an attack within living memory.

In October 1962 they attacked India and still occupy some 43,000 square kilometres of Indian territory (see link 1).

Prior to that, in October 1950, they had invaded Tibet which had hitherto been recognised as an independent country. (see link 2)

Hope this is of interest

Further to Chinese success in India & Tibet, they also had a skirmish with the Vietnamese in the late 1970s in which they had also won.

They conquered Tibet.
They kicked the Japanese out twice.
They built a wall to keep the Mongolians out and to claim a lot of land from Mongolia.
They also conquered a lot of territory many many years ago so since then they've mainly been defending that territory.
