Most brands of cigarettes, except for the Spanish brands, are 31€ for 200, tax has been increased recently, but the companies have been absorbing the rises in many cases, especially the brands that the tourists seem to buy. Brands at 31€ are B&H, Embassy, Richmond. etc. If you are buying for a friend, you are, in theory, breaking the law, as all purchses to bring back to the UK are 'for personal comsumption only'.

The Spanish Government has increased the tax on cheaper fags but they are still a lot cheaper than in the UK.i hope you don't get done by UK Customs on the return journey.
Incidentally,if you go to Gibraltar from Spain,Spanish Customs only allow you to import 200 into Spain----as 200 in Gibraltar cost about £11.00 you can see why there is a restriction.

Why don't you simply buy the cigarettes and bring the receipt for them back for friends so they pay you the exact price you paid for purchase.

Any money they have given you can be added to by your friends or refunded on your return.

Tell them to quit smoking and stop worring about the prices in diffrent countries..It will also save a lot of money on medical bills in future for them...have a nice trip.
