First of all; we do not have a Minister of Defense. We have a Secretary of State;
Second; I will absolutely fire everyone whom is in the department and in decision making/advising positions, for more then 10 years, so then I can properly inform the President on policy issues.
Third; I will replace them with persons whom have "present" experience in the field and have prov-en themselves as true Americans not 'party favors' LOL.
Edit:
I stand corrected; we do have a Secretary of defense.
It completely "slipped" my mind since Mr. Rumsfeld was so Useless that it seemed we had none. LOL
However, if I had a chance at his post I again, would do the same as I posted above.

Start a withdrawl from Iraq, you can't just up and pull out, slow and easy. Send troops to Darfur and push for a UN peacekeeping force there. I would also put regular ground and air patrols at the mexican border. Pull out of Afghanistan, Bin Laden is either dead or sitting on a beach in Florida laughing his butt off.

Instead of dropping bombs, I would start dropping bags of pot into war zones. That way everyone in the world would chill out, and stop killing each other. Peace would sweep over the world and I would be hailed as a hero. haha

I think at the first step hating from America must be resolved.
This hating mainly is from moslims peoples that must be removed and one of the most important stage is reducing of supporting of israel. On the other hand for solving problem in middle east depends to change politics about palestin and israel.
Reducing of supporting of Israel will conclude to reduce of hating from america and then reduces of mental background for terrorism operations.

If I were Secretary of Defense I would move all American troops, world-wide, to the US border with Mexico.
