Me too I hate to see young people on welfare and government benefits, people who are perfectly fit to work, but what about the elder?, it has to be a way to help only those who are over 65 or 70 years of age or are disabled and can't work anymore, nothing aggravates me more than being in a store and see the person ahead of me, a 30 years old woman full of jewelry and paying with the food stamps card, that's what we need to get rid off, but I think is not much we can do about it..☺

Your arrogance is truly unbeliveable. LETS GET RID OF ANY PROGRAMS THAT HELP PEOPLE!!!!!!!
First of all let me tell you something, I am a single parent with a bachelor's degree, and I used to be on welfare. Not because I was lazy or trying to scam anyone. I only have one child and those food stamps help to put food on my table and that medicaid took care of my baby when he was sick.
For you to sit there and make a generalize statement about poor people is very disturbing to me. Where is your comapassion, less then 2 % of the budget goes to welfare programs. And some people do scam the system, but people scam every system that we have in place. How many people open up fake business and write off their yacht's as a loss that there business took so they can get that money back when they file taxes.
You are very ignorant person who needs to be enlightened. I will pray for you,

Excuse me for my rudeness, but you probably live with mommy and daddy, huh? Either that or they are paying for your tuition, but if ou would have been born & raised in Detroit, likeI was the signifigance of gorverment funding for the underpriviledged is necessary in order to maintain the U.S.'s placement as the only remaining superpower in the world. If you dug your prissy little head out of your golden toilet seat and stopped puking up your last partial meal for a second and visited a ghetto you would realize that eople on receiving this assistance you speak of are probably 90% of the time not unemployed they are single mothers, the elderly, the disabled with the exception of the highly common Hmong immigrant which the goverment SHIPS in here and provides free housing, no taxation, and $749 per mont per family member. Now, if you were more culturally awarte of the surroundings outside of your castle princess, you would realize these might be the people you're speaking of just MAYBE!!!!! IGNORANT ****** ****!!!

To think your awake at this time of the morning, with someone else's problems on your mind,is beyond belief. If you have a good education,a good job,and an even better 401k plan, then don't sit back worrying about how others (who may not be as fortunate as you are) live their lives. Thank God for the Blessings you have, and also thank him, that you are not in their shoes. If you don't know what it fells like to:
(1) Not have a job.
(2) Not being able to feed your family.
(3) Not having proper clothing.
(4) Not being able to take your child to the doctor, the very minute he gets sick (without a criminal background check).
(5) Having to tell your child, that "Santa Claus" is'nt coming this year.
I'm sure your hoping for 1000 answers from people like you,who "Have, but don't understand why others Don't". Instead of looking down on them, look up to God,and Pray for them. Maybe one of your biggest prayers may come true,if your humble.

you again and still pissing and moaning about something you know nothing about. if you are so great yourself put a use to your education and your unhealthy hatred of those not as fortunate as you and do something positive. whats worse lazy welfare scamming people or people with small minds and small hearts that choose to use their free time to insult and tear down others about something that is none of your business if all you are going to do is ***** because you are not creating any solution to the problem you are making the problem worse. find a good cause to get on your soap box about. they're out there open your eyes your mind and your heart and you may see things different.

I think you need a fu+++ life why the hell are you worrying about this so much anyway? You sure know a lot about the whole welfare system and what it offers btw, Also what do you think would happen to all the social workers that work for the welfare what would they do without a job? Or while they tried to look for new jobs? I think we need to get rid of you personally. Plus you have so much nerve I think you need your *** kicked.

Did someone on welfare steal your man or something? Why do you have such a high level of hostility towards individuals who need public assistance?
Be careful in what you ask for. You want to eliminate public aid but one day you might find yourself needing it.

I understand your point, but I think you need to do more research on the subject before declaring it useless. I, for one, think that Universal health care would be a much better option. Its basically the norm for countries like the UK, Japan, Germany, so I think it would work well here too.

Yes good idea, providing of course that goverments do what they are supposed to do provide enough jobs to go around, so people can provide for their own welfare.
How about people that cant possibly work and have never been able to,for various reasons, should they be put down?.
