the purpose of life is to do good things even sacrifice yourselves for the community. If you can sacrifice yourselves for the community, your name will be remembered as a hero. It is what we call ' a meaningful life'

This view of life can easily become unbalanced. If we live only for others and sacrifice ourselves to the needs of others, we can't really be of much use to the others or to ourselves. Marx, although he was the principal theorist of communism, was too often an idealist. This quote is an example of that. Unfortunately, communism in practice too often didn't work. This idea can too easily be corrupted by ruling powers. Examples are Mao's Long March in China, Stalin's irrational demands that individuals live only for the good of the communist state, etc.
The best way is usually the middle way. Yes, try to help other human beings, but not at the complete expense of your own life and needs.

My objective in existence is to be a caregiver. because as youthful as i'll save in thoughts i change into continuously playing Nurse, having a Nurse kit as a latest for Christmas or a birthday. In lady Scouts getting to well known First help and taking a Nurses Assistant classification. The summer season of eighth grade being a sweet striper that is the position you volunteer in a well-being facility and that i joined the army top after intense college and grew to change right into a Corpsman which we call our Medics. i'm now no longer in the clinical field, yet i'm nonetheless a care giver in a great number of approaches.

life is like a SAT test............
its full of options........ But only one option is right but unlike those tests, for different ppl, different choices r correct......... life is an unique gift that we have been given........ with a purpose..... some tyms we may not realise but we do hv a purpose..... its not faith that makes me say this.
its the practicality that make me say this...... God or no GOD.... just think what wud hv happened 2 u're best frnd or frnds if u were not there
we live life 2 fulfil our dreams... but the search for our answers and quest for our dreams will always touch others and that is what it is all about....
swami vivekananda was not a man who prayed to god... he was even againsi the worship of gods... but he was for helping ppl to help himself. he made his goal to serve mankind...........
but the common man cannot do that. that is why he is common.
but this common man has his own goals n these goals will touch others..............
the bottom line ya philosopher.............
GET UP GET OUT GET GOING..... U HV STRONG LEGS SO GO PLACES AND LIVE U'RE DREAMS & U WILL HV DONE U'RE DUTY. DONT SIT AROUND THINKIN. IT WILL NOT CHANGE THE WORLD.... 2 DO THAT START WITH U'RE SELF

Your Marx quote is very altruistic-- and I would think in keeping with the single-mindedness and passion of a 17-year-old.
In the Bible it says to love others AS YOU LOVE YOURSELF. I take that to mean man is entitled to pursue pleasure in his life AND help his brother whenever an opportunity arises. I don't think self-sacrifice is demanded of us-- who of us can be Jesus Christ or Mother Theresa. But of those to whom much has been given, much is expected.

Yes, that's what should be and good luck to you to be the perfect person!! Perhaps your present sacrifices will be repaid to you several times multiplied after death.... may be not?
I just want to be different and yes, I am not scared of the future consequences. Future in any case is uncertain and I am not quite keen to make it any certain..... I want to enjoy now knowing future is uncertain.
But that approach is hardly wise. Our obsession with current joy and well being invariably jeopardises our future and for that matter, not the one after death but the one right here in this life itself. Being good is not for rewards after death, it is for ensuring a better future right here in this life itself..... this is what the dictate of wisdom is!!

Definitely no. And here is the error of Karl Marx.
Marx started out with the intention of removing man's alienation from the fruit of his labor. He was speaking for the masses who work for oppressive landlords for little wages. He thinks that the fruit of his labor is being denied from him. So to put a chicken in every pot he decided to "take frome each according to his ability and to give to each according to his needs".
Basically what does that mean? It means he decided to do the exact opposite of what he intended to do. In his brilliant scheme of things, he takes the fruit of your labor and he gives it to the bum who most needed it. This eventually, will kill you. People are encouraged to work less and to need more. And very soon all those in society with ability will die out and it will be left only with those with needs. That's what happened to communism (your Karl Marx in practice) and that's why it utterly failed.
In contrast, lets take a look at greedy selfish and capitalist america. And lets take the words of prime minister Tony Blair, that you can judge the quality of the country by looking at how many people are trying to get out and how many people are trying to get in. And people try to get it because they have a chance to improve themselves (not others- but themselves). Your life is your own. And you are free to improve it as you wish. If you ask for self-sacrifice from everyone, you don't get happiness in the community. You cause the misery of everyone.
Instead of trying to give everyone a chicken in every pot... try giving them FREEDOM to put a chicken in their own pots. For every mouth to feed there are (generally speaking) two hands to feed it.

I think the crucial point is that its just fine to live your life altruistically if thats what you feel your purpose is.
Because its not your selfish ego prompting you to so, its your higher self, your real Self, that spark of himself God put inside you.
Otherwise, its just an empty sentiment.

Yes that is correct but god has put an illusive veil on human mind .It is called Maya. Because of this people are selfish and egoistic.

It is my experience that there is no one purpose to life, for "the" purpose is ever changing. As I accomplish that which is set in my path the purpose thereafter is revealed. I do however attempt to remain aware of the series of events that place me in the path of those in need. I have a general sesus within me that allows me to realize beyond doubt when someones need is greater than mine....then is when I am responsible to temporarily sacrifice the fulfillment of my needs to help a fellow being. However, is sacrificing the fulfillment of my need cripples my ability to share the healing elements of life than I must take take care to nurture myself, for I am most responsible to me. I am of equal value to all those whom I share this walking life with and if I burn myself out beyond self care that is unfair to all others, so I must take responsibility for nurturing myself into a "balanced" existance. This level of health opens me to gifts in life I feel responsible to share. I do not however live "for" any other human being nor any other walking creature, though I do share the gifts I recieve in life with all who are willing to accept as I have the ability. So, the purpose of life is defined each moment by my experience of it. Recently my purpose was to compose this response....if only to pull its message from beneath the clutter within me so that I may reconnect with my own truth. Only you can know your own truth as only I can know mine....though I hope you may find the guidance you are in search for.
