it will be years before we reap the benefits of Iraq...the main objective is not worrying about the benefits of Iraq but how to bring the troops home and let Iraq itself be a more stable country.. by the time that we get to reap the benefits of Iraq all their natural resources will be gone...

Sigh, probably not for decades, but we will eventually. You have to remember in the greater scale of history, the events of the past 3 years have been a tiny little dot. When our children and their children look back, decades from now, they will probably see that they have benefited directly from this war. Gas will certainly be a hell of a lot cheaper, and if we can actually get a stable democracy to survive we might have a shot at producing some overall regional stability.

To the poster who said the terrorists are on the run, I'm gonna assume you're being sarcastic (note to you, sarcasm doesn't translate well in typing). If anything the war has emboldened terrorists, and given them a long-term foothold in Iraq which previously was relatively terrorist-free (Saddam didn't trust radical Islamic terrorists because he thought they might destabilize his regime).

WE never will. WE never could. Around 40 years ago, Eisenhower warned us about the dangers from the Military / Industrial Complex. This is one more step toward reaching absolute power. THEY already have & will for years to come.

When everyone dies and we steal their oil....no, but if this keeps up that is what will happen. If not, then we will have another piece(hopefully peace too) in the middle-east.

P.S. person under me--they are on the run to Iraq to go kill us, not running away

When Bush personally come to Iraq and get assasinated. Then he will lay to rest beside Saddam Hussein... :)

We already are! Where have you been? The terrorists are on the run and not killing more Americans on US soil. Get over yourself!
