Decided to book flight to Cancun as it's much much cheaper than to Mex City but need to get to Medx city after Cancun- just wondering whats cheapest- anyone know?

If you take a bus it will be about 24 hours to get there, is kind of far, but cheap option.
I just bought a ticket in www.aviacsa.com.mx and the price is around $350 USD round trip

It is far, and Mexico's a big country. I think it took about 20 hours or so on a bus when I did it. The quickest way would be to fly internally. Sorry do not know how expensive they are. When I was travelling it was out of our price range, but that doesn't mean they were necessarily expensive!

Is really far.
By the road is about 36 hours, dangerous and not recommend. You have to go across Chiapas and Oaxaca, county with many problems
By the way if your choose is bus you can check in http://www.ado.com.mx/ or https://www.ticketbus.com.mx for the tickets. The cost is around 100 dollars Single way.
By air is about 2:30 hours you can check tickets in www.click.com.mx and is around 150 dollars single way

Not entirely sure, but I would avoid going via Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow.
