Genuine asylum seekers who really are fleeing a mortally dangerous situation in their home country should be granted refuge in the UK. However, this should be limited and a time table should be placed on their full integration into British society, including learning the language, finding a job and paying tax.
Illegal immegramnts should be sent home.
It angers me that immegrants, both legal and illegal, seem totally unwilling to integrate into British society and culture. They come to the UK and set themselves up as if they had never left.
The money would be better spent educating the men and women of this country about the absolute value and dignity of human and life and on the use of Natural Family Planning (which is 99% effective) to regulate family size rather than pouring tonnes of artificial hormones into ourselves every year.

it is not possible to answer this question because you confuse two totaly different groups of people. Illegal imigrants and Asylum seekers are not the same. Though to seek asylum one must first be in the country... and therefore an illegal immigrant - so we criminalise them before they even arive, then imprison them in'detention centres' in breech of our Human Rights obligations....
Remember these people have travelled often for months or even years accross the world and have spent every peny they and their family have on the hope that they MAY be able to come here and flee presecution, torture, death etc....
I wish people would realise how godn damn lucky we are in the West, and how poor the vast majority of the world is... let aone the conditions of injustice and inhumane treatment many recieve.
Oh and let me say it before someone else does :"I am a soft liberal" or somthing along those lines... i am not in fact a liberal... but i wont try to explain, most of you wouldnt understand - i am simply an educated, intelligent person who is capable of makign my own mind up an not believing without question everything that the Sun/Daily Mail tells me.

To put it simply this is not the fault of the asylum seekers, the system is just pants. When they go through the process legally it can take absolutely years to deal with, being illegal is much easier. Which would you choose? The home office runs the whole shebang and I think they just can not cope any more, because the home office is just too big. We need a minister for immigration and asylum to deal with the problem, FAIRLY.

As we dont have any info on the illegalls and even most of the asylum seekers, who have turned up here, we dont know how many rapists, murderers, con-men, theives and organised crime members we are now housing. I think we should STOP NOW!!!
Let someone else deal with it!!
Our taxes are the highest in the world anyway, so i am paying for these scabs, to suck the life out of my country. As i am a single parent who has to work 55 hours a week just to make ends meet.

I think if your country decides to implode, you shouldn't force the rest of the world to look after you, because if every1 did that problems would never go away. A civil war, then pick sides and fight, don't run away, otherwise your country will be over run by the negative force. Famine, then think of ways to irrigate, the fields aren't going to farm themselves if you run away. Flood, get a bucket and bale out your house, otherwise there will never be anything to go back to.
So Immigrants who flee their country because life is hard are not to be pitied as they are gutless and cause more problems, both for the place they leave and the place they impose themselves on.

There is a fascinating satelite photograph of light polution at night over Europe and the UK. http://www.flatrock.org.nz/topics/environment/california_high.htm It is fairly clear from this where all the people are in Western Europe and where there is plenty of space...
The question is why do people cluster in these particular areas? Answer that and a lot of other environmental questions will be answered.

The problem is not immigration, it is "illegal economic immigrants" in other words we are mainly taking in (unknowingly) the lowest classes of immigrants from 3rd world countries.
When people have nothing and are illegal they resort to crime to survive.
This is just another failure by our politicians to manage the country and to be so politically correct they are terrified of the word racism and discrimination that all illegals use as their defence.
Our politicians have a lot to answer for.
