i'll be leaving kuwait on the 10th and i want to bring her something that'll sweep her off her feet and into my arms. i'm looking at these nice diamond rings but i'm still not quit sure. a necklace? some advise would be nice. but keep in mind its a 17 hour flight and i'm not going to sit there with roses for that long

The diamond necklace would be my choice - or perhaps something indigenous to Kuwait that she could get nowhere else.

Be careful with a diamond ring unless you want to marry her! She may end up actually feeling disappointed that you gave her a ring, but didn't propose! The other thing is, ring sizes vary so much. I would suggest something impressive she can show off to her friends - a diamond necklace sounds perfect, or a beautiful bracelet. Hide it well though at customs....
PS...what a sweetheart :o)

You should get her something special, something she cannot get here, perhaps a peice of the culture or a beautiful culural item. Although you state that silver and gold are cheaper there, that doesnt seem as special because that is something she can recieve over here, but your buying her discount jewlery. Maybe get a picture of her painted (or just leave it as a pic) and framed in an antique frame set with jewels or something, I think that would be sweet.

I agree with the person that said that if you don't plan to propose a diamond ring might actually disappoint her. I would go with earrings or a bracelet. I would write her a very special love note or poem from the heart and wrap the gift with that. Welcome home!
BTW: You are a sweetie and she is a lucky girl!

Diamond rings are little too much if you ask me. Find something romantic that could possibly display sentimental value. I'm not sure of what's in Kuwait so I don't really know but... make it romantic.

get her a nice ethnic looking blouse if she's into that form of clothing. I'm sure there must be Indian blouses- colorful with sequins and beads and thread work- available there.
or if she likes go for something GOLD, because they have beautiful designs from what i heard.

Buy her a small teddy bear, perfume (her favorite) and a ring. Use some of the perfume on the teddy and place the ring on the teddy's paw... She'll love it
