I wrote the ASPCA for a starter package. It gives you all the instructions on how to obtain grants and so forth. If you don't find any info e-mail me I'll send you the book or at least give you phone #'s

Lesko books are really worth getting. The give you tons of info on grants in specific states. If you search the internet hard enough, there will be a government site from your state that have a lot of helpful information.

I am glad to see people like you. This is a wonderful thing you are doing. I wish I had some information for you but I don't. I just wanted to say Thank you, we need more people like you.
I will take in a unwanted dog or horse from time to time and then place them in a good home.
I wish you all the best. Good Luck and God Bless.

I would defintely go through your local human society or the ASPCA. Are you sure you want to START a shelter? Maybe you could work or vounteer at one instead. I think you should check with the state, they probably have some zoning guidelines.

first of all volenter to watch other people's animals, take in starys and animals on death row. (so to be killed for no reason) build off from there. have prople to see you as a guy that can help any animal that you come arcoss. have a job on the side to support finaces them you can start getting donations once you get out there but first you wanna start small. dont give up your hopes it will work

Call your local ASPCA or Humane Society and ask them who you need to call to get your shelter set up with the state, they can also tell you who to contact regarding funding.

Put in your local zip code here> http://search.petfinder.com/search/search.cgi
and contact the rescues in your area. I'm betting that they will give you great information about how to start it up..If you run into any rudeness, just call another..
